What Is HCG?

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone that mimics the action of LH (luteinizing hormone) in both men and women. It is FDA-approved for specific fertility and hypogonadism indications.

In men's health, HCG is widely used alongside testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to maintain testicular function, size, and fertility - preventing the testicular atrophy common with exogenous testosterone. It stimulates natural testosterone production through the same LH receptor pathway.

In women, HCG is used for fertility stimulation and ovulation induction. It has also been used (controversially) in weight loss protocols, though FDA has not approved it for this purpose and evidence for weight loss independent of caloric restriction is limited.
